four years till we get our club back
at 19:04 3 Dec 2016

From what i can see the Americans are here to make a profit (no sh$t $herlock) - so they take the TV money this year and the parachute payments for the next 3 years - meanwhile we sink like a stone - ending up in the nether regions of league 1. Having sucked the Swan's nipples dry - or to be biologically correct, slurped up the regurgitated slops of the premier league - they then decide to offload the club to the first bidder. At this point the Trust shoulder aside some Aussie bloke and take control - hopefully without the philanthropic input of local 'businessmen', Bump this in 2020.

ITV news - - idiots

At the end of the news, reported about England's exit from Euros- then said 'one good bit of good news for British sport is Andy Murray '- then finished with 'come on Andy - you're all we've got left'

perhaps I'm over sensitive, but it really p"ssed me off

- catch it on ITV plus one

Lack of pride and belief
at 18:28 5 Dec 2015

I have had the impression for the last few games that the players are going throught the motions. We've been crying out for someone to take a grip out there and give us a bit of hwyl - but no-one has stepped up to the mark.

Today - apart from Leon and Ash there was little pride in the shirt to be seen. Ok - perhaps they weren't trying to lose - but there was a distinct lack of busting a gut going on. Have they lost belief that Garry is the man for the job - like a lot on here have - incl;uding myself?

Council trying to build on Ganges field again.
at 23:34 26 Mar 2015

In 2009 after a 3 year battle, we managed to get plans to uproot an ancient hedge and build on the sports field kicked out. Planners said no - councillors said no.

Before this, in 2004, a full survey was done which concluded that open space was needed in Townhill (we only have around 30 percent of statutory recommendation) and the field should not be built on.

This not a case of Nimby-ism - the field is used for casual football at weekends - and by people from all over the Hill - the area was an open space before I was born and I hope it will remain so after I'm long gone.

it was originally common land - enclosed in the 18th century land grab (the Pentyla road hedge is last intact remnant of this) given to Swansea for recreation in 1920's - and now because the council are short of a couple of quid they want to try and grab a piece of it back and sell it to developers

the 250 year old hedge is on a raised bank 10 - 16 feet above the road - and is old hawthorn with crab apple and beech - so it's not a garden privet - it can't be replaced

the more that object to this the more chance we have of keeping the field in public use - it was used for kids football not long ago, Swans youth played there - West End trained there - who's to say it won't be needed again?

So if you know the place, and have a moment to spare, here's how to lodge an objection go to

Dogs and sticks - cautionary tale
at 22:29 25 Feb 2015

I've got a collie cross 18months old - very active, Took her to park today as usual - and as usual she brought me a stick to throw. I'd heard the odd dog walker saying they never threw sticks for their dogs, but never having a problem with any other dog in the past, I though nothing of it. Until today. The stick broke as it hit the ground and as she went to grab it she whined.

I checked her mouth but couldn't see anything stuck there - but she coughed a bit when I took her home and wouldnt drink or eat - not like her at all. Took her to vets - where she needed a general to knock her out for investgation, turned out the stick had made two deep puncture holes in the base of her tongue. Vet showed me picture of gashes - luckily she did not sever any blood vessels. All sorted out and a few quid lighter, I will never throw a stick again. Vet told me of a dog he couldn't save that had had a that went down throat and pierced its aorta. Sticks and dogs - accident waiting to happen.
