Aside from the obvious, which posters do you miss who no longer contribute?
Davilin and Jackflack are two of mine. Of course, the man who merged Latin, Welsh, English and a splattering of Esperanto is on my list.
Nice to see Fathy posting more often too!

What's he up to these days?

Has asked if he can make a return to the forum. He said he'd even give £500 to a charity of choice if he interacted with a certain poster...

Genuine questions which I feel deserve a thread of their own
What made you vote leave or remain?
Based on the facts now, would you change your decision?
I voted remain as I wasn't convinced by either sides argument so I stuck with the status quo.
I'd stick to my decision, simply because there is no tangible evidence that leaving sorts us out in the short to medium term.

The Corbynistas are frothing at the mouth on Twitter. So much for "kinder and more gentle politics"

Work for the DNO or do high voltage connections?
I've got the Power Network coming around tomorrow to look at my cut out. My guess is that the poor sod who owned my house was diddled as they appear to have run the meter tails through 'newer' fuses into the old cast iron cut out (through a fùcking wall) as a means of not needing to dig up and joint the cable
My question I will ask them (but obviously want someone who does this work to see if I'm barking up the wrong tree) would be if it would be possible to run new cable through the existing entry point (this is already accessible as the builders dug up the path for me) and then joint to the old cable.
The old cable enters the building and joins the cut out vertically so I assume it's not possible to bend the current cable given its age. I'd like to have the fuse in the top left corner against the wall.

What a pair of utter, utter cùnts May and Corbyn are. "You're racist", "No, you're more racist"
Both of them should be cast into the Pit of Sarlaac

I was almost in tears on the way to work today listening. They did his 60th birthday special and they had some of his finest clips:
AB "How is Bob (Monkhouse)?"
Caller "Alan he died at Christmas time"
AB "I heard two stories"
AB "How is Hanse (Kronje)?"
Caller "he died in a plane crash"
Not to mention Ray Parlour and Ally McCoist torturing him

I've borrowed a diagnostic kit from work and the following error codes are present on my Mk4 golf:
17978 - ECM disabled
16989 - internal control module ROM test error
00287 - rear ABS speed sensor circuit malfunction
17563 - MAP sensor test error (I believe this is the manifold sensor)
18039 - accelerator position sensor -g79 signal too high
Does anyone know how many hours labour would be involved for these jobs?
Also, talk about timing, the CV joint seems to have packed in on my Mrs' 2006 Polo 1.4 (the CV joint kit is 44 quid from Euro car parts) - any idea of the amount of labour required for that job?
Her coolant sensor has packed in again (that can wait a little) and the other code on hers was the Read DTC module of A/C controller (18049 active)
I'm based in Herts so need to budget accordingly!
