Yet another home improvement related thread!
at 19:35 19 Nov 2017

Evening all, does anyone happen to do work on the power network or is on the Lloyd's Register?

As shown below, it appears that the previous owner (not being fully compos mentis) was diddled. The distribution network operator (who are now UK Power Networks) appear to have run a spur from a newer 100A single phase fuse (middle picture) through the wall into the older bakelite fuse and VIR cable. This should have been removed when they did the work and now they are trying to charge me £1400 for the privilege.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but am I being charged to undo someone's laziness? (No need to post Clasey! )

Wes Streeting and Steven Kinnock hosting MEND in parliament, Bob Blackman hosting an anti Muslim Muslim group. These people simply don't give a damn anymore.

Surely his position as editor of the Evening Standard is now untenable. I'm

The great repeal bill

Surprised not to see one. Unsurprising to see the Bob Bradley of politics that is Teresa May attempting a power grab that breaches the fundamental principles of our democracy. Did the public vote for ministers to do as they please? If this bill isn't stopped or significantly amended what comes next? Will our courts and judicial system be meddled with? Worrying times.

The Home Bargains/B&M/Poundland (other retailers too) thread
at 18:07 3 Sep 2017

Given the return of the enigmatic Perch, I thought it appropriate to rekindle a bargains thread.

To kick off, home bargains ponty had 12kg of bird seed for £4 and Le Tour De France chain cleaner and all weather lubricant at 99p a can.

As mentioned on another thread Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz has 25% off too

Modern day politics
at 10:42 10 Jul 2017

Is it just the influence of modern media, or are we entering a new era of politics? On the right we have:

- May the fraud who campaigned for remain, but is now hell bent on pushing us off a cliff into a hard brexit
- The DUP money tree
- Gove stating that those who don't benefit from HE shouldn't pay (whilst ironically claiming back an elephant lamp for £130 - how the f*ck does that benefit the taxpayer?)
- proposed boundary changes

On the left we have:

- Corbyn who is providing no such opposition to Brexit. I read that someone said it would be 'political suicide' for him to have campaigned for Brexit...
- Abbott and Lammy who think it's acceptable to use someone's ethnicity to slur their competence
- The talk of deselection of MP's who don't toe Corbyn's line (ironic given his stance over the years)

I do shudder at the thought of the next decade...

I see David Lammy

Has joined the Abbott club of using skin colour to denigrate someone (when talking about the judge appointed for the Grenfell enquiry).

Why do people like him feel the need to use the term "white"? If he'd just said "an upper middle class man who's never been to a tower block" his point is well and truly made.
