Michel Vorm produced some wonderful saves on his debut for us in the premier league many moons ago away at Man City. If someone had told me then we would go on to have many more seasons and win a trophy and have a decent run in the europa league I would not have believed you.
Tonight he most likely oversaw a win against us which will prob end up sending us down.

I wasn't surprised by the last two games, expectations had risen but in all honesty we lack leaders who can ruffle feathers when schitt gets real away.
It's occurred to me... how many times since we've been in this league have we witnessed poor poor away performances.
How many times since being in the Prem have we thoroughly deserved and outplayed a team away from home? It hasn't happened as much as it should.
Today was typical from us - no point blaming manager - this has been a problem for ages.

Fab - for me he's not done much wrong this season considering the utter shambles in front of him.
Nordfelt - can't comment much - hardly played.
Naughton - spurs reject and not a First xi prem player
Rangel - great servant, love him to bits but hiding to nothing away from home.
Fernandez - promised much but just struggles in this league.
Amat - for me no more than back up - better distribution but is shaky
VDH - Ajax reject - not good enough in this league
Mawson - the replacement for a national and team captain - what a step up to make - not good enough yet
Leon - class player for us and integral to the way we play. Simple.
Cork - Southampton reject and now showing why - got more reverse gears than an Italian tank.
Fer - a reject by anybody that has been relegated - fits and starts but not a starting Prem player
Ki - dunno what he did on national service but he's been awful this season
Barrow - even he must pinch himself how well he's done coming from Sweden - needs to produce more.
Routledge - frustrating player who wouldn't get into another prem teams starting xi
Montero - inconsistent and only appears to play decent stuff from the bench
Dyer - how on earth did they extend his contract for 4 years.
Fulton - can't fault his work rate - has the quality? not so sure.
Siggy - where would we be without him. Doubt we'd have any points without him
Llorente - can score but requires quality service, otherwise he's anonymous.
Borja - still undecided - has he really had time? Not been backed by management
Mcburnie - yes the u23 league is just like the prem. let him develop and play him in cups.
So as you can see the squad which mr Jenkins and co built is pretty Sh1t....the same squad guidolin said he was happy with, the same sort of squad which wasn't good enough last season (even with Williams and ayew)
The honest assessment is we need to strengthen everywhere and that just ain't happening. I'd like to thank the scouting team and the board for building a team worse than the one which got us promoted and for £ucking up every transfer window since laudrup left.

Was surveying the options in our squad and asked myself a simple question - if we got relegated who would other prem teams want:
Siggy and the keeper maybe (fab)
really pisses me off we've been in this league 6 years but have been left with a team which is not as good as the one which got us here.
Good effort tonight tho I thought. |

Celtic fan on talk sport just now purring about the football they are playing.
Attendances up 20k just battered Aberdeen 4-0 and it could have been many more.
Just wish we had gone for him because I think it would guaranteed the return of Allen and the I think Williams would have stayed too.
Oh well.

Probably barking up the wrong tree but Rodgers said his proposed move back to us was part of the takeover. Me reading into this suggests he might have been given funds and because it hasn't gone through he might not have got any.
Just wondering if this delayed takeover could have a negative impact on who we bring into the club this summer. |

I hope the board are not just scratching around like they were when Monks reign was coming to an end. I'm hoping that Huw has just been treading water and has a master stroke up his sleeve. I'm glad Guiolin has had respect from the fans and if he should get the job I'd get behind him - but part of me is saying for next season - new direction - new management and we reinstate our philosophy of pass and move football.
If we end up just giving him the job at the end of the summer I'll not be impressed as the club will have had plenty of time to come up with a plan.
