Manager Paul Simpson has dipped into the loan transfer market once again for a defender, after signing Tom Aldred from Championship side Watford. Simpson has made his move after Southampton defender Jack Saville has returned to St. Marys on compassionate grounds without having played a game for the Hatters.

Aldred is a 20-year-old centre back who joined Watford from Carlisle United in the summer having made just 5 appearances at Brunton Park. Tom rejected a new one year deal to stay with Carlisle and opted to join Watford instead. Tom has been allowed to join County by Hornets boss Malky Mackay in order to play first team football at a competitive level after he has faled to play any first team football at Vicarage Road.

Aldred has joined County on loan until 5th January 2011.

In other news winger Danny Rowe has joined Blue Square Premier side Northwich Victoria on a one month loan spell in order to play first team footbal. Rowe has found it difficult to gain pitch time this season following the excellent form of Adam Griffin.
