Player Profiles 2008-9: Nathan D'Laryea

He came from Man City, we call him Dairylea!  Defender Nathan D'Laryea's updated player profile online now.

D'Laryea came to the club pretty much as an unknown. He's very highly thought of Spotland came with decent pedigree having been through the youth ranks at Manchester City to the extent where he captained their reserve side.

He joined on a free transfer in the Summer of 2007. He came as back up, and would probably have had more of a look in had it not been for a bad injury he suffered early in the 2007-8 season.

When he's played, he's looked more than capable. He's played in pretty much everywhere across the back so far, and he's also featured in a central midfield role. Not bad that considering he's only featured in ten games in total. There's no doubt that he'd have played more had it not been for the outstanding form of Stanton and McArdle.

Whilst not the tallest, he's very composed when on the ball, and he certainly brings some intelligence to the side no matter what position he plays in.

As has been mentioned often, he has a twin brother who is also a professional footballer at Mansfield Town, though the two didn't come face to face in the Dale v Mansfield games in 2007-8.
