Jenkins Faces More Injury Misery

Home >Story Index> Jenkins Faces More Time Out

Jenks, who was playing well in the right back role before injuring himself back in October had only just worked his way back to full fitness and had come through a reserve team game at Bath last week unscathed.
He was expected to travel to Oxford with the squad last Saturday but an accidental clash with Nick Cusack last Friday in training saw his knee swell up and Richie Evans confirmed today that he will face at least two weeks out.
With Terry Evans seemingly making the right back spot his own, Jenkins now has to seem content with trying to force his way back into the reckoning when he is fit unless he sees his luck change for the better.
Meanwhile, conflicting stories fly round Swansea today about the potential ownership of the club. Initial reports said the deal with Mel Griffin was dead and buried after Petty allegedly decided he wanted to retain 30% of the club. However, further rumours said that the deal was not yet dead and that Mel Griffin could still take control of Swansea City.
Other rumours suggested that Doug Sharpe and Mel Nurse could be part of the same consortium - stories that I find very laughable on the basis that Messrs Nurse and Sharpe are not, shall we say, the best of friends!
Whatever happens to the ownership of Swansea City, we are in desperate need of better times behind the scenes and as Nigel Saunders pointed out it is a miracle we are where we are in the league at the moment. Whoever comes in, better do so with the best of intentions and it is well documented what some of those intentions entail!
