A Message From Swansea City

Club Appeal For Fans To Get There Early

The club are anticipating a crowd similar, if not larger to the one that arrived on the opening day of the season and are appealing for fans to arrive in plenty of time for kick off to ensure that they end up in the part of the ground of their choice. Swans fans will again have exclusive use of the West Terrace with Boston's ticket sales up to today being a meagre nine, they could almost all share the dug out let alone the Jewson Stand.

As with the Bury game, it is likely that the North Bank will be closed to pay on the night customers when it reaches around 80% of capacity to ensure that all North Bank season ticket holders can gain access to that part of the ground with any queue at that point being directed around to the West Terrace to watch the game. The club are suggesting that people make their way to the Vetch for around half hour before kick off which should ensure that they see the start of the match which kicks off at 7.45pm.

From a personal point of view, it seems odd having to arrive at the ground so early before kick off but at the same time I would rather have to do that and see 8,000+ crowds in the Vetch than arrive two minutes before kick off with only 4,000 people in the ground.

The club are also trying to encourage supporters to pick up the matchday programme which remains constant at a price of just £2 for this season and I have to say that the Bury one was particularly good value for money with plenty to read rather than the programmes of a few seasons back which were mainly adverts. Sales of the matchday programme for the Bury game were disappointingly low and is something that the club is aiming to get up in coming weeks.

The club shop will be open tomorrow night for purchasing tickets for the Oxford game with a reminder that you can save £3 on the value of the ticket by purchasing in advance. The shop will remain open until 30 minutes after the end of tomorrow's game and will then re-open between 9am and 3pm on Saturday for further ticket sales. Places on the supporters buses can also be booked via the club shop but again common sense dictates that if you wish to purchase tickets tomorrow you leave yourself some extra time as the shop gets exceptionally busy at times on match days.

Finally, supporters are reminded that if they wish to purchase a new shirt using their discount voucher then they should order the shirts in the shop and they will then be contacted when the shirts arrive. Supporters are reminded that when stocks arrive in the shop it is likely that they have already been pre-ordered and there is unlikely to be stock on sale in the shop in the next few weeks due to this. There have been posts on the message board about people ordering shirts and them being in within the week and this is good news. Having pre-ordered mine it certainly seemed to make more sense than trapsing to and from the club shop every day to be told that they are not in.

So, in summary - arrive early tomorrow, buy a programme and before you get there visit the club shop to get your Oxford tickets and pre-order your new shirt. You know it makes sense!!
