Trundle In The Running

Swansea's Lee Trundle finds himself in the running for the PFA player of the month for League Two in the month of January.

In the poll which is run monthly on the PFA web site, Trundle finds himself currently in the top 5 alongside Bart Griemink and Nicky Nicolau from Southend and Jamie Brooks and Tommy Mooney from Oxford.

With the voting of the two pairs from two clubs split you would have to say that Trundle has a chance of picking up his second award in such a category.

He picked up his first award in September 2003, shortly after his arrival at the Vetch and during a period where he found the goal with some ease. Goals have not been so easy for Trundle during this period - his only strike coming from the penalty spot last weekend against Wycombe

However, this has not stopped the votes coming in for him and should he triumph, he will be the second Swans player this season to pick up the award following Kris O'Leary in September.

The only other Swans player to pick up an award is Leon Britton who as well as the monthly award was also crowned player of the season in 2002/3 for the division.

Of the other contenders, Griemik won the award last month but none of the others have triumphed this time around.
