Blast From The Past - Tommy Hutchison

Signed for the Swans in the mid 1980s by former Man City manager John Bond, Tommy was a skilful left sided midfielder and former full Scotland international who won 17 caps. Best remembered for his spell at Man City when he became the first player to score for both sides in a Wembley FA Cup Final v Spurs in 1981, he developed an excellent understanding on the left flank with Terry Phelan and carried on playing in the Swans first team until the age of 43, still a Swans Club record. Tommy, who had a short spell as caretaker manager during the mid 1980s when the Club was in serious financial trouble, was a hugely popular player eventually ending his playing career at non-league level with Merthyr at the age of 46.
