Jackett Better Than Wenger - Official (!!!!!)

Unsurprisingly, Swansea's great start to the season has seen Kenny Jackett occupy a lofty position in the League Managers Tissot League - the ranking system that a manager is rated on.

The Tissot League was introduced a season or two ago to judge a managers based on their performance rather than that of their team - only really relevant if a manager swaps teams during the course of a season.

The League gives points based on a system which is fair and rewards management for across-the-board performance, and for consistency and good defence as well as goals and results. - More points for away wins and draws than home wins and draws recognising these are greater managerial achievements

  • Points for goals, but also goal difference in each match - so a 3-1 win gains more points than a 3-2 win
  • Points for clean sheets recognising that defence is an important aspect of good management
  • Points for consecutive wins and draws rewarding managers for consistency of performance

And with the new season just about three months old, Kenny Jackett finds himself in 9th place in the current league standings ahead of the likes of Arsene Wenger and Sam Allardyce.

Unsurprisingly, Chelsea's "Special One" is at the top of the tree significantly clear of the chasing pack which is headed by Steve Coppell at Reading. Neil Warnock is in 3rd place, just ahead of the under pressure Sir Alex "Bollocks" Ferguson

And with Kenny in 9th place and just a point behind Steve Tilson in 7th there is the likelihood that a positive result from the Swans on the weekend could move Kenny up another place or two.
