I'll be Back Warns Swans Midfielder

KOL: I'll be Back

Kristian O'Leary is vowing to be back at Swansea for Christmas after his loan deal at Cheltenham will run out two days before the big man in the Red coat appears.

O'Leary has played his first competitive games as a professional away from Swansea - he made his debut impressively in a win over Brentford at Whaddon Road and admits that making the decision to join the Robins for a month was the hardest thing he has had to do.

Speaking to the Wales on Sunday, Kris said "When I took the phone call from Kenny telling me I could go out on loan it wasn't nice at all,

"Every player knows that day will eventually come to them but you always want to try to put it off for as long as possible.

"I didn't sleep much at all that night and I spent the whole of the next day sorting things out in my mind and wondering what was the right thing to do.

"It was one of the most disappointing phone calls I have ever had and it was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my career.

"I'm a local lad and I have never wanted to be anywhere else.

"I'm at Cheltenham until December 23 and I intend to be back with Swansea on Christmas Eve,

"I haven't been happy with my performance levels this season.

"But my aim is to get some games under my belt and give Kenny a few things to think about.

"I don't expect to walk straight into the side and be in from the start but I feel that I can still do a job when I am back to my best."

O'Leary has just enjoyed the first of several events designed to celebrate his testimonial season at Swansea and although he is out of contract at the end of the current term it is evident that he has not given up on a new contract with the club despite this current move. Whether Kenny Jackett allows him that opportunity remains to be seen.
