Dean Windass equalised from the penalty spot three minutes from the end to earn Bradford a 2-2 draw in a dramatic finish against Swansea.
Top scorer Windass fell to the ground following an off-the-ball challenge from Kristian O'Leary after Swansea had cleared a free-kick.
O'Leary was sent off and Windass scored his second goal of the match to earn Bradford a deserved draw.
Windass had given Bradford the lead after 23 minutes after on-loan strike partner David Hibbert headed the ball down to him but Swansea equalised 10 minutes later with a goal from O'Leary.
Adebayo Akinfenwa then put Swansea in front after 51 minutes when goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts failed to hold Tom Williams' cross, but Windass had the last word.

They played well, first half we struggled a little but the second half we created alot of chances and was quite an enjoyable game I thought. I felt a bit of an injustice today with the penalty incident, I don't really know what to think of it. Was Windass cheating or was it clever play too, to wind up O'Leary? I felt the turning point was the offside goal, if that was allowed - looked pretty harsh - it would have been a different game. But I felt proud, the players showed heart and determination. A good result considering we had so many players out. --- Post edited by matt_the_jack on 13/1 23:32 --- |

Game we could and should have won. Good display all round. Sending off up the othet end, so can't really comment. Ignoring that K O'L was MoM - outstanding performance. Fallon goal - offside............... homer of a ref |

As Ive pointed out several times, whenever our fans boo or pisstake a player, inevitably he shafts us. Today,it was Dean Windass. As soon as he got the fatbastard chant I knew the day would end in sorrow. Some kids better understand that good players, especially proven Pros especially Goal scorers are not afraid when they hear their name abused,it motivates them. He got O Leary sent off who had had a great game IMO.He battles for everthing and yes St Ath,he passed the ball to his own players. Butler looks full of confidence,Leon was Leon,Bayo looks trouble for them. I dont want to criticise Mr Jackett but we were wondering whether it would be a good idea to put Chris Jones on and go for it.Their back 4 were statuesque and Im sure Chris would have rand rings around them. Like others at the club,he is being shafted. |
