Scotland will make his home debut in tomorrow's friendly against Levante at the Liberty and he is looking forward to showing the fans what he can do for the first time on home soil.

Scotland has not taken part in any of the three friendlies Swansea have played in Wales yet but he did find the net on the pre-season tour to Holland - something which always plays on a players mind. And he comes with a big reputation and has been tipped as the man who can fill the gap left.

"With Lee gone, it's going to be big burden on the strikers here and, of course, it leaves a big hole," said Scotland in the Western Mail

"He scored 20-plus goals in four seasons and was part of Swansea so it was sad to see him go.

"For a new striker to come in and do that is very hard, but it's a challenge we have to take head-on.

"I don't want to put ourselves under too much pressure and say I'm going to fill his boots.

"I got 26 goals last season, but I'm not going to set myself a target yet.

"I'll give myself a couple of games before I do that.

"Hopefully though I can score a few goals and will be able to entertain the fans while I'm at it as well.

"It will certainly be different from playing in Scottish football and it's a new level upon which I can showcase my talents

"It's just a good opportunity and challenge for me.

"I wanted to play in the football league and this is my chance. I've seen bits on the TV and it looks a good and tough league to play in.

"Dennis is a good pal from Trinidad which helps, and there are a few guys playing around the divisions here.

"But, for me, it was just time for a change as I really enjoyed myself in Scotland, but I wanted a new challenge.

"It seems there's more room than what I was used to at St Johnstone when you don't get time on ball and defenders are always quick onto you."

His manager is also a fan and ready to sing the praises of the man he beat off competition from higher placed clubs to land "He comes alive in the last third and has all the attributes to be a top striker," he said.

"He is a magic player as he has that unique touch, power and is strong finisher.

"The fans will take to him as he gives us something different. Jason showed on tour what he can do and I'm confident he can do something similar in the league.

"Whoever he partnered in Holland, be it Duffy or Bauzza, it looked like they've played together for years.

"That can only be a good sign for next season from our point of view."
