Shock Horror - Derby County Still Want Ferrie
Shock Horror - Derby County Still Want Ferrie

Less than a week after pulling out of the race, Derby County admit they are still in it

Well, we never saw that one coming did we?   Derby pulled out of the race again and yet still want to sign Ferrie.  In, out, shake it all about - we know they still want the player.

Paul Jewell admitted today to BBC Sport "We would like to speak to him but until we get permission from Swansea, we won't be able to do that."

Which of course is true enough and the Swans seem unlikely to accept the offer until their MINIMUM valuation is met (the £2m quoted before)

Ferrie will join up with the Swans in Sweden later this week amid what seem to be renewed efforts to keep him at the club for another season which in turn kills speculation that the player had stayed behind to hold talks with Derby or anything similair.

Jewell added "The vibes I get every time I pick up the paper is that the player wants to come here.

"If the clubs can't agree a fee or if Swansea have different ideas to the valuation I put on him, then we can't do a deal.

"Ferrie is a player we admire and we've tried and tried and tried, and there's only so much a club can do."

Which again is right enough and it means that the Ferrie saga rumbles on.
