Butler Confident That Goals Will Flow
Butler Confident That Goals Will Flow

Tom Butler and Mark Gower both return to action tomorrow with a common goal - that to grab their first goal of the season.

It has been a frustrating start to Championship life for both players who have played their own part in the Swans encouraging start to the season even if it means that they have not found the net as yet on the Championship road.

But if the lack of goals is worrying the players then they are not letting it show as Butler told the Evening Post "It will come,

"We've both got into some great positions so far, but whether it's been a last-ditch tackle, a block or a deflection, they just haven't gone in.

"You just think, I would give anything for a bobbly goal right now, something that just rolls into your path and is nice and easy. "But that's not the way it's happened. Mark's 'goal' against Wolves was a prime example.

"It was a great strike by him, a brilliant finish, but one little thing meant it was controversially disallowed.

"I said to him after the game: 'How unlucky was that?' and he was just shaking his head as if to say 'Give me a break'.

"That's just typical of the way things are going at the moment, but it's easier to take because the team are doing well.

"Wingers average around seven or eight a season, so I would be happy with something around what I got last year again.

"I think that if I could just get a couple of goals, that would kick-start me and I could get a bit of a run going.

"You look at some players and the ball seems to roll to them for nice little tap-ins. But we never seem to get stuff like that. We get wonder goals where there are 50 passes before we score.

"I think it's just a matter of time, though, before the goals start to come. You can't be unlucky forever."
