Mark Gower has again spoken out about his lack of goals since his summer move from Southend

The Swansea City midfielder was an absentee yesterday as the Swans drew 1-1 with Sheffield United at the Liberty.

A mixture of bad luck and poor finishing means that he has yet to find the target since he joined the Swans back in the summer meaning he is now in the middle of the longest drought of his career.

It is 29 games (23 for the Swans) since Gower last scored - he grabbed 1 in a 2-0 victory for Southend over Brighton in April and he admits that the lack of goals is playing on his mind.

"I'd be lying if I said I hadn't been thinking about it.  I'm desperate to get off the mark and it has been playing on my mind a little.  You do lose sleep when a big part of your game isn't working as you like.

"I've always scored goals and I know I need to get going.  I usually chip in with eight or nine goals a season and it's been frustrating.

"The manager has told me to just keep plugging away.  I know if I do score one then I will get a few more."
