Dorus de Vries agent says that there is still a chance he could remain at Swansea next season

It was reported yesterday that the goalkeeper would be on his way out of the Liberty after stalling over the new two year deal put in front of him.

It was claimed that the deadline fro signature had passed and that would leave Roberto out looking for a replacement for the Dutchman who has spent the last two years at the Liberty.

But the players agent, Arnold Ooserveer, has told the Western Mail that the deal was not dead in the water.

Ooserveer said “Swansea made him an offer and there has been a final offer and Dorus is thinking about it

“Swansea want to have an answer as quickly as possible, but at the moment Dorus needs more time.

“He hasn’t given an answer yet but the situation is that he needs more time.

“If it’s finished for Swansea because there’s already been too much time, I don’t know.

“But I think there is still time for an answer.

“They made an offer but it took seven months to come.

“He was happy to stay with Swansea but it could have been finished a long time ago and I think Dorus was disappointed about the whole situation.

“Now he has to think about it. It’s up to him now but he wants to be 100 per cent on saying yes and he wants more time to do that, that’s all."
