Everton are the latest side who are rumoured to be looking at Swansea target Jordi Gomez

Gomez has become one of the summers hot rumours as a host of Premier League sides are currently linked.

In recent weeks alone we have seen Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Liverpool linked with the move as well as Celtic north of the border whilst the latest reports in Merseyside suggest that Everton are also preparing their own £1.7m bid for Swansea's player of the year.

The Swans are looking to break their own transfer record with a move for Gomez but now seemingly face some real stiff competition for his signature and whilst the transfer fee may not be hugely eclipsed, any wage offer from Everton would surely far exceed anything that we could consider offering.

As ever the reports are backed up with nothing more concrete than general speculation but it is further evidence of the impact that Gomez had during his first season in English football.

The Swans meanwhile remain in contact with Espanyol over their own potential move for the player and could yet retain his services for the coming season with Jordi always adamant that he would be happy to remain at Swansea.
