Kerry Morgan praised Swans boss Paulo Sousa after his impressive Swansea debut

Morgan was a surprise - but eftective - debutant in the Swans 0-0 draw with Reading on Tuesday night - earning himself a string of plaudits after an impressive display.

And he now insists that he is ready for more Championship outlings, telling the Evening Post "I think with the previous manager I wouldn't have been out there.  I'd like to thank the gaffer for giving me the chance to show what I can do.

"He didn't know much about the team when he arrived apart from the main players who played last year.

"I'm in the same boat as him learning new things all the time.   With a double Champions League winner you learn things every day of the week.

"I enjoy training and my confidence has risen so hopefully I can take it on from here.

"When I saw my name on the team sheet the nerves kicked in and my stomach was doing somersaults.   Alan Curtis said 'they're good nerves to have.

"Once you get your first touch or your first pass and the boys around you help it's like any other game.

"My confidence grew every minute that went on it was great to get out there."
