Nathan Dyer believes that Swansea can repeat the feats of Sunderland a few years back

The Black Cats were down the bottom end of the table early in the season before going on a run that eventually saw them reach the Premier League under then boss Roy Keane.

And Dyer believes that Swansea's brand of football can see them doing the same this season as he told the Evening Post "Anything can happen for us this season

"If we can get one win or two wins on the trot I think we could go on a long unbeaten run.

"Sunderland did it a couple of years back and I believe we can do the same.

"I have a lot of confidence in our squad and the ability we have.

"I know we play the best football in the Championship — I think everyone would agree with that — and I've got no doubts that we can go on and mount a challenge.

"It's still early days. The season has only just kicked off and people are still finding their feet.

"We have had a change of manager and, while we are playing with the same system as last year, he has added his own bits and bobs and we have to get used to them.

"That will come and, as long as we stay strong, things will happen for us. We aren't that far away from the teams at the top and there's still a long way to go."
