Swansea and Manchester City have been urged to put to an end the Emyr Huws saga

Huws has been banned for competitive football for 12 months as the two sides argue over the compensation that the Swans are due

And FAW development director Osian Roberts has urged both sides to come to an agreement with the player being the most important factor in the whole discussion

Roberts told the Western Mail “The shame for me is that officially he hasn’t played since last Christmas and that can’t be good for his development

“That is my only concern because for all the rights and wrongs of the situation, there is a 15-year-old lad in the middle of it.

“I only hope his progression hasn’t been affected by all this.

“Hopefully the both clubs can come to an agreement and it can all be put to bed.

“You can see why they are standing their ground because they have invested in young players,” he said.

“They will want to be rewarded if they are going to lose them.

“You are not going to stop bigger clubs attracting the best players, but the clubs who invest in these boys should be compensated at the appropriate level.

“It would be the same if Swansea were to take a player off a club like Carmarthen in the Welsh Premier.

“It works both ways.

“But as always the most important thing in these situations has to be the player.”
