The Daily Mirror links Paulo Sousa with a move for Bolton defender Danny Shittu

Shittu is reportedly out of the plans of new Bolton boss Owen Coyle and has been told that he can leave the Reebok Stadium.

The Nigerian international has turned down previous moves away from Bolton and there are also reports that Championship rivals Bristol City are also keen to use him to strengthen their squad.

But other sources suggest that the Swans higher league position would be more attracgtive to Shittu with the propsect of promotion very much on the cards at the Liberty Stadium.

The paper also claims that the Swans are prepared to pick up the wage bill of Shittu which could well cast a doubt on the legitimacy of the story
