Chopra Hails Cardiff City's Performance

Michael Chopra was in no doubt that he thought Cardiff deserved to win the Welsh derby

Chopra struck late in each half to break the hearts of Swansea City and move the home side a step nearer the play offs at the end of the season.

After the game he told the official Cardiff web site "I woke up this morning thinking I could get a hat-trick, or even four goals - but I'll settle for two!

"Our performance was brilliant. You've got to give a lot of credit to the other lads, not just me. Fair enough, I might get the headlines for scoring the goals but I've got 10 other players in the team who get behind me and if it weren't for them we wouldn't be winning games.

"I love scoring goals that's what I get paid to do and it's why the manager spent a lot of money on me at the beginning of the season - to come in and score goals.

"We knew that even if we went behind, with the belief in our ability we could come back. We showed that down at Swansea earlier this season - when we went two down we managed to get two back and it was unlucky that we didn't go on to win the game.

"We were determined that they wouldn't do the double over us. We didn't want to be the first Cardiff team in 80 years or whatever it is to be beaten twice in a season by Swansea.

"And I hope our good run will take pressure off the chairman, who's been blamed for a lot of things lately. What's been happening isn't his fault.

"What happened last season was disappointing and a shock to everyone and we knew this season that we weren't going to let that affect us."
