Swans Agree Terms With Donnelly Wednesday, 23rd Jun 2010 11:45 Swansea have agreed terms with Aldershot midfielder Scott Donnelly, who will become the club's first summer signing The 22 year old has agreed a 3 year contract at the Liberty Stadium and will join officially on the 1st of July when his Aldershot deal expires. A compensation package is still to be agreed but the Shots website describes negotiations as 'advanced... with the relevant paperwork to be completed shortly'. Donnelly scored 14 goals last season and had 11 assists as Town missed out on promotion to League Two. He had been linked with a move to Wycombe to link up with his former manager Gary Waddock but admits that the lure of a "top Championship club" was too much to reject.. "I had a few offers on the table," he told the official site. "But as soon as Swansea came calling I didn't have to think twice about it. Shots manager Kevin Dillon said: "I am pleased for Scott. He has been really good for us and his attitude has been terrific. "I knew that he would move and the opportunity at Swansea City will be an excellent one for him. He may have to be patient once he gets there but he has great attrributes. He is excellent at set pieces. The facilities will be better for him and he will get fitter and stronger. "We will get a very good transfer fee with a healthy sell on clause too." "Gary (Waddock) had a lot to do with it and did a great job with Scott. When I took over I only left him out of two games and one of those was to rest him at Morecambe with the other match on a poor pitch which didn't suit him. "He has improved tremendously and it is a credit to the club that he has been able to advance his career. I would be disappointed if any of my players joined a club in the same division. Scott goes with our best wishes and I have somebody in mind to replace him but we shall have to wait to see what happens."
