Bobby Davison is the surprise first name to apply for the Swans job according to the Evening Post

Davison - currently scouting for Crystal Palace watched the Swans several times last season and believes that he can bring the necessary skills and experience that the Swans are looking for.

He told the Evening Post "Swansea have everything in place to be a successful club. The stadium, the fans, the squad of players — they can continue to progress with these things in place

"I understand Swansea have a smaller budget compared to the majority of teams in the Championship, but I worked under similar circumstances with Ferencvaros.

"I also had to develop a lot of youngsters in Hungary and deliver promotion at the same time, which I did.

"Managing in Hungary was a great experience, particularly with the different approaches to games and tactics, and I have gained a lot of contacts around Europe because of my time there.

"Now I would like to manage back in Britain — I feel I have a lot to offer.

"I have applied for the job and hopefully I'll hear something soon.

"I would love to work with the players and staff at the club," he said. "I did some work for Paul Hart last season at Crystal Palace, which meant I saw a lot of Championship games and Swansea were very impressive. They caught my eye.

"Swansea just missed out on the play-offs last season and I think they'd be looking to get in there next season.

"But I'd want to finish in the automatic spots — you have to set yourself high targets."
