Gagging Order On Swans Players
Gagging Order On Swans Players

Swansea's players have been banned from speaking to the media in the build up to the next games

The gagging order was put in play by Swansea City Chairman Huw Jenkins who wants the players to remain focused on the job in hand - namely getting the performances and results that could lift the Swans into the Premier League by the end of May.

Swansea players have never been short of willingness to communicate with the local media but the Chairman has currently requested that it is just the manager who faces the media questions rather than the players - some of whom have come under criticism by fans for comments made in the build up to games.

The Swans have a busy weekend ahead of them - a Saturday trip to Portsmouth is followed by an Easter Monday clash with Ipswich as the season enters it's finaly four games with sides still jostling for what seems to be the right to go up automatically alongside QPR.

Four away defeats on the bounce have damaged the Swans prospects of reaching the top two and that is clearly something that the club want to address and taking away distractions is one way of retaining extra focus on the job in hand.
