Nathan Dyer says he would swap any individual accolade for a place in the Premier League with the Swans

Nathan Dyer was voted as player of the year by Swansea City supporters but he would gladly give that award back if the Swans could reach the Premier League come the end of this month.

Dyer told Wales on Sunday “I would swap any individual awards for a place in the Premier League, 100%.

“It is where every footballer wants to play and it’s the promised land. I know we will do it this year.

“I won’t be drinking the champagne yet. I’ll keep it. I will put it on the mantelpiece so I know what game it was.

“It’s a team man of the match rather than for myself.

“I’ve never been to Wembley, not even as a fan. It’s every boy’s dream to play there.

“It’s the main stage where the best players play in finals.

“It would be a great occasion and very emotional. But we can’t think too far ahead. We have to win on Monday first.

“Beating the top sides at home won’t count for anything now.

“It’s one game and it’s like a final for us. Anything can go. We have to go and give our best and hopefully we can get the win.

“Forest are in the play-offs for a reason, so we can’t underestimate them. We are at home, in front of our fans and we want to do them proud and put on a good show.”
