Mark Gower admits that he is counting down the days to the next Swans Premier League fixture

Mark Gower admits that he is counting down the days to the next Swans Premier League fixture

It was a superb draw for the Swans at Anfield on Saturday after they took the game to Liverpool and can consider themselves unlucky not to leave with all three points.  But as the season heads into international break yet again, the next fixture looms large in the minds of many as the Swans prepare to welcome the reigning Champions to the Liberty Stadium.

Manchester United will provide the opposition on the 19th of this month in front of the ESPN cameras and a sell out Liberty Stadium crowd as demand for tickets goes into overdrive to see how the Swans match themselves against the mos successful team in Premier League history.

And Gower himself is now focused on the game as he told the Western Mail “I’m counting down the days to Manchester United because I can’t wait to get going again

“As we go through the season we’re ticking off things to do and Saturday was another one we can cross off.

“Coming to a big club like this, a top five Premier League team, and, not just get a point, but compete just shows how far the team and the club has come.

“We’re a bit disappointed the break’s come because in the last three games we’ve been building some momentum.

“We can’t wait for the next game to come.

“It was a fantastic result and the dressing room is a really chirpy place at the moment.

“Going into the game we were quite optimistic after two good performances, but to get the point is very sweet.

“On reflection we had a few chances, but they had some pressure and some chances.

“We deserved it because of how we passed and how we played.

“We carved them open at certain times, got in little pockets behind their midfield and looked dangerous.

“I don’t think Liverpool could say they deserved to win, but I don’t think we probably could either.”
