NEW SWANS BOOK
Thursday, 10th Oct 2013 06:51

The Swansea City Supporters' Trust is delighted to announce the availability of a second commemorative book produced in conjunction with Swansea University as part of the Swans100 Project. The first book, “Swansea ‘til I Die", told the story of supporting the Swans for the first 100 years, using the words of fans themselves. A limited number of copies are still available from the Club Shop.

This second book, “Swansea Moments — a hundred and one years of supporting the Swans”, supplies a timeline of the first century of Swansea Town/City, telling the story through key dates. Dates which include triumphs and disasters, brushes with extinction, humiliations and redemptions. It was decided to add the 101st year to cover the Swans’ first ever major cup final victory, and a return to European competition.

The book is a “potted history” of the club; a timeline of the Swans from 1912 right up until the triumph at Wembley in the Capital One Cup. It has over 190 pages packed with many unseen pictures and is a story of ups and downs and ins and outs and downright hilarious bits in between - a classic football story. But it is about Swansea City, our club, the first Welsh club to play in the Premier League, and a source of pride and pathos for the people of Swansea and South West Wales for the last century and a bit. Enjoy the story - it was made possible by people like you.

The book is available at £15.99 from the Swans Club Shops at Cwmdu and the Liberty Stadium and on line from the Club Shop website.
