Chelsea’s Frank Lampard will captain England in Tuesday night’s game with Costa Rica, England’s final game of the tournament.

Usual skipper Steven Gerrard will drop to the bench with Lampard coming in to start in midfield, while Luke Shaw and Ross Barkley will also start. Leighton Baines and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain miss out with injury.

Lampard has admitted he is considering his international future as newspapers speculate tomorrow night will be his final for the Three Lions.

Speaking to the media in Rio today, Lampard said: "I don't know whether I will carry on,"
"I will get home and make a decision at that point because I have my future at home to sort out as well.

"This is not the time or the place. Sitting in your room for a month, you don't always come up with the right judgement."

Despite dropping to the bench for tomorrow’s match, Roy Hodgson has revealed he has asked Steven Gerrard to play on after the tournament, and remain as captain.

The Liverpool skipper admits to having feelings of pain and frustration since defeat to Uruguay last week and says it will take several weeks for him to clear his head and come to a decision on his international future.
