Crystal Palace defender Alex Wynter has joined Portsmouth on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old was a U's target after impressing during five games he played on loan at the end of last season.

Back in May, Joe Dunne expressed an interest in bringing Wynter back to the club either permanently or on loan. However, with the arrival of full-backs Sean Clohessy and Ben Gordon last week, plus defender Josh Thompson signing a new deal, it is likely that Palace were not keen on loaning out their player if he wasn't going to start games.
