In our final part of our round-ups from Saturday's pre-season games including Premier League teams we bring you news of a win for Spurs but defeat for Aston Villa.

Tottenham 4 Southend 0

It was a relatively easy start for Spurs in their pre-season campaign as they scored four times without reply against Southend.

The game, which was played behind closed doors, saw goals from Danny Rose and Nabil Bentaleb whilst youngsters Josh Onomah and Nathan Oduwa joined the more established stars on the score sheet at Hotspur Way.

Former Swans goalkeeper Michel Vorm played for Spurs

Nathan Oduwa: “I’m glad I got a chance to play with some Premier League stars today

“I’ll take the two assists and a goal any day, but really I’m just happy that I got minutes under my belt in a senior environment and that my fitness levels are getting up there.

Fulham 3 Aston Villa 1

Fulham and Aston Villa met in the sun in Portugal and it was the Championship side that came out as winners despite Libor Kozaks first goal for Villa for 19 months.

Kozak's goal cancelled out Matt Smith's first half opener but Alex Kacaniklic fired home an unstoppable shot from 25 yards on 67 minutes while former Leeds frontman Ross McCormack produced a composed finish on 87 minutes to increase the lead and give Fulham the win.

There was no Fulham debut for Jazz Richards though but they were delighted with their win in the training friendly.
