Redknapp - Britton Would Enjoy MLS Football

Leon Britton is seemingly moving towards the exit door at the Liberty and it also looks like his destination may be the States after he confirmed yesterday that there had been interest - although nothing definite - from clubs the other side of the Atlantic.

As we revealed on here last week, Orlando City are emerging as favourites to secure the signature of Britton although nothing formal has been made known by either club at the moment.

Leon has stayed at home from the German tour having been told by Garry Monk that there wold be limited game time for him and he played for the Under-21s against Wrexham yesterday to get some action under his belt.

With Monk having used 22 players in the 1-1 draw with Monchengladbach it does seem that Leon's time at Swansea is up as he wants regular action in the twilight years of his career and it has been widely reported that the club will not stand in his way should the right offer come along.

And he has been backed for the move by former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp who told the BBC "Time and tide waits for no man. If he wants to play regularly

"I would think he'd enjoy it, it'd be a great experience for him.

"The Robbie Keanes and people like that have gone out there and done amazing, got a great lifestyle, they really appreciate you out there.

"For the last couple of years of his career I'm sure he'd enjoy it, but I really don't know what he's got planned.

"If that's what he's looking to do then full credit to him for that because he's not just a lad who's going to sit around, take the money and not play.

"He's been through it all with Swansea, nearly going out of the Football League then coming back to the Premier League, the top level and running games.

"When I was at Tottenham, he was the one we were most concerned about because everything came through him.

"Just look at his stats, he never gives the ball away."
