Leeds United: Sam Byram Not For Sale
Thursday, 23rd Jul 2015 07:41 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

Whether the Swans are interested in Sam Byram or not it seems a little redundant now if the words of Leeds manager Uwe Rosler are anything to go by as he declared on national radio that the player was not for sale.

Reports surfaced last week that Byram was a target for Swansea City and Everton amongst others as they looked to add the right back - valued at £8m to their squad.

It seemed unlikely for the Swans to be interested given that we have both Angel Rangel and Kyle Naughton in the squad but young talent is always something that interests in the Swans so there was a possibility.

But speaking on Alan Brazil's Sports Breakfast on TalkSport yesterday Rosler said “I’ve heard a lot of talk about Sam Byram but we’ve only received one enquiry, we haven’t even had an official bid

“Sam is as good as gold. He works extremely hard, as does the whole squad.

“He’s playing very well and has a contract with us. Obviously he’s a talented young English player, so people are going to be sniffing around him, but Mr Cellino has told me we don’t need to sell.

"There are no plans whatsoever to sell one of our young talented players.”

It would of course be interesting to know where the interest came from but I suspect it wasn't Swansea on this occasion.
