Koeman Addresses The Media Ahead Of Thursday's Game
Wednesday, 19th Aug 2015 14:47

Ronald Koeman has been speaking to the media ahead of Thursday evenings game against FC Midtjylland at St Mary's Stadium.

Ronald Koeman has been talking about how FC Midtjylland will be a different prospect from Vitesse and will play a tighter less open game than the Dutch team .

"Tomorrows game will be a lot more difficult than the Vitesse game. They have more physical players and they don't play so open as Dutch teams" said Koeman.

The manager also confirmed that Steven Caulker will be back in the squad for the game, something that Saints fans will be glad to hear after the defensive frailties against both Newcastle and Everton.

Koeman also went on to say how his new look back line needs time to adjust to the playing style of the team and confirmed that in footballing cliche terms he would be taking every game as it comes and that meant taking Thursday's fixture as a priority.

"I don't make a team with Sunday's game in mind. I make the best team to get a result tomorrow."

Good words from Ronald Koeman and hopefully Saints can repeat their performance against Vitesse where they played the perfect two legged European tie.

Tickets are still available and hopefully there will be a big walk up on the night that will push the crowd to somewhere near capacity, certainly although FC Midtjylland are not a household name in England or even a team most Saints fans would have heard of before the draw, they are no push overs and as Koeman has confirmed it will be far tougher than Vitesse, therefore the team need a big crowd behind them.

They don't let too many goals in (at least, not in their first nine games this season) so maybe we should be looking closely at their centre backs. If they're any good we could make a bid before they fly home.

They are better than Brondby and FC Copenhagen. I lets hope we get an early goal and get some confidence back.

Oh dear! Koeman's whole demeanour at the pressies was worrying. The blame game has obviously started. Did you notice that for the first time he was making excuses - 5 of our 7 defenders that we had last year were not playing at Everton.... Any injuries? Pithy reply "Caulker is available".

All is not well with RK, I hope he does not feel let down by Les and the board and is thinking maybe he's wasting his time here? Anybody else sense all is not well?

oh dear, I hope you are wrong saintbrock. I haven't seen the press conference yet but the last thing we need now is a down beat manager.

Lets hope the crowd get behind the lads tomorrow night and we get some feel good factor going again!

He's allowed to be unhappy after Saturday. If he was all smiles people would be saying he is taking things too lightly.
