Dyer "Excited" By Leicester Opportunity

Nathan Dyer was a deadline day departure from the Swans yesterday as he made the move to the East Midlands to join Leicester City on a season long loan with first team opportunities limited at Swansea.

It was a little bit of a surprise move for Dyer who has spent six years at Swansea and certainly - despite reported interest earlier in the summer - looked destined to stay at the club and try and win back the place that he has lost this season.

It was going to be difficult of course thanks to the form of the midfielders and wide men at the club but Dyer himself had said that he wanted to stay and earn his chance just last week after making his only start of the season against York in the Capital One Cup.

But the Swans sprung a deadline day surprise and a helicopter whisked him off to Leicester where he put pen to paper and he is now part of their preparations for defending their own Premier League unbeaten record so far this season.

“I’m excited,” said Dyer, speaking exclusively to Foxes Player HD. “I’ve heard this crowd and I’ve played here many times. They get right behind the team and they’ve got some great supporters.

“That will help the players and help me to perform well. I’m looking to make sure I give the fans a bit of excitement by playing well.

“I hope I’m going to add a bit more pace to the team and hopefully give a different dimension. I’m looking forward to getting down to attacking, beating my man and scoring some goals for the team.

“I think everybody has been watching Leicester. I’ve seen them a few times obviously and their attacking prowess is looking amazing.

“The facilities are amazing. It’s a massive training ground and speaking to the physios here, there’s everything you need. Everything is at your disposal so I’m looking forward to getting started and getting playing.”
