Rangel Frustrated By Hull Defeat

Angel Rangel felt the same as most of those involved with Swansea City as we exited the Capital One Cup with a 1-0 defeat at the KC Stadium last night, a result that came very much against the run of play.

The wasteful Swans missed a host of chances to win the game and were made to pay the price when Meyler scored the only goal of the game in the last five minutes of the first half and earned the home side a place in the next round of the competition.

It was a tale that we have seen before over recent years and one that is bound to frustrate whether you are a player, manager or supporter and one that we will look back on and wonder what could have been when the fourth round draw is made.

Angel Rangel was back in the side as one of ten changes that Monk made from the side that started against Everton on Saturday and he was as frustrated as anyone at the end of the game when he spoke to the official site

We're obviously frustrated with the result," he said. "I thought we were brilliant in the first half - we played some of the best football I've seen in a while but we didn't take our chances.

"Then they take one of the two real opportunities they created and end up winning the game.

"Even at 1-0 down we were positive because we didn't need to change our approach. Unfortunately, we didn't play as well in the second half as we did in the first but I don't think you can fault the effort and commitment of the players - it just wasn't our day."
