Swansea Ticket Sales Top 30,000 Mark
Friday, 25th Sep 2015 10:38

Saints wont be too far off a sell out for the visit of Swansea City with the club announcing that sales have already hit 30,000 with a day to go before the game.

Yesterday I urged readers of this site to share a story to fellow Saints fans to encourage them to attend the Swansea City game, and now the club have confirmed that they have sold over 30,000 tickets for the game with the only block with plenty of availability left being block 43 returned by Swansea themselves and even that has seen around half of the tickets sold.

Again a great effort from Saints fans and another attendance of over 30,000 shows that we are heading towards building a good hardcore of fans and that is the first step if the club are to consider expanding the stadium.

But the fact still remains that there are empty seats and that tells us that at the moment we are not at the stage where the demand is quite there, from that point of view we are better playing Swansea in St Mary's with a 30,000 crowd than having 8,000 empty seats in a 40k capacity stadium.

But there are just two steps needed to look to expand St Mary's, firstly the fans have to do their bit by selling out St Mary's for every game whoever the opposition and then the club have to do theirs by making sure that season tickets are attractive options when compared to buying individually.
