Ayew Withdraws From Ghana Squad

A knock sustained against Tottenham Hotspur has forced Andre Ayew to withdraw from the Ghana squad that will face Canada in Washington next week.

Reports from Ghana suggest that the withdrawal is down to a knock he got in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Spurs at the Liberty and the player does not want to cross the Atlantic to play in the game.

Ghanasoccernet report that he 'felt pains after the match' and has stayed in Swansea as a 'precautionary measure' in order to get fit for the Premier League matches against Stoke, Aston Villa and Arsenal later this month.

Ayew is the Ghana national captain but it is good news for us that he will remain in Swansea to ensure his fitness ahead of what is another big month for the Swans.

Meanwhile, the player has also distanced himself from some comments made on Social Media when he Tweeted the following
