Wales fans are confident that the nation will start their Euro 2016 campaign with a victory judging by the snap poll we placed on Twitter today.

We asked the simple question of what the result would be and within an hour, 72% of the 172 people that managed to cast their vote had voted for the Wales win.

Interestingly only 6% of those voting could see Wales losing their first match in the final stages of a European Championship.

Thousands of Wales fans have made the trip to Wales for the competition and they will be hoping that the results seen here are reflective of what actually happens in Bordeaux this evening
