Guidolin - We Didn't Deserve To Lose

I am not sure that "attacking for 95 minutes" was an entirely accurate summary of the game that unfolded at the Liberty this afternoon but it was certainly the views of the manager when he faced the press after the game.

Francesco Guidolin bemoaned the way that Hull defended with all their men behind the ball and believed that his side did not deserve to lose the game after the two late goals saw them sink to a first defeat of the season.

His comments probably gave a different impression to how the game really went with the Swans managing just 3 shots on target in those 95 minutes and never really troubled the opposition keeper with any of them which was the real truth of what was a disappointing performance.

“I am disappointed because I dreamed of being top of the league,” he said.

“But this is our job — it’s not a good day for us. Our legs were not brilliant, but we didn’t deserve to lose because we attacked for 95 minutes.

“Hull defended for 93 minutes with 11 players behind the ball. I have no problem with this — I respect all opponents and they can play whichever way they want.

“It’s not easy for us to play against 11 men defending, but we have to accept the defeat.
“I am disappointed, but tomorrow is another day and we have to prepare for the next game against Peterborough.”
