In Demand Barrow Now A Leeds United Target

Mo Barrow is a man in demand as Leeds United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Southampton are all linked with a move for the Gambian international who, it is reported, is available for a transfer fee of £7m.

Barrow looks almost certain to be a departure from the Liberty Stadium this window and appears to be surplus to requirements following the arrival of Luciano Narsingh and the new contract for Wayne Routledge.

After Leeds shock exit today from the FA Cup - they were beaten 1-0 at Sutton - the papers were quick to link Barrow with a move to Elland Road where he would join up with former manager Garry Monk.

Monk was quick to bemoan the depth in his squad following their exit and whilst this could be a case of two and two being put together, Monk is known to return to former players with Kyle Bartley, Matt Grimes and Pablo Hernandez already on his books at Leeds.

Villa have been linked with a move for Barrow that may or may not include Jordan Ayew coming to the Liberty whilst Newcastle were linked when a move for former player Andros Townsend failed to materialise.

The two unlikely suitors are Crystal Palace and Southampton although I would never write anything off as far as this particular discussion goes.

It could be interesting to see what happens should a transfer fee be involved for Barrow and whether we have a target lined up to use that money for but what does seem certain is that I would be amazed if Barrow is with us come Wednesday morning.
