Swans Hunting Barnsley Defenders Again?

It's another day and more links for the Swans with players and this time it is reports that we could be on our way back to Barnsley for a second defender after the successful capture last summer of Alfie Mawson.

It is safe to say that Mawson was one of our best pieces of transfer business last summer and he cemented his place in the Swans side under Paul Clement as the side went from bottom of the league to the relative comfort of 15th place come the end of the season.

Mawson's top quality defending together with his knack of finding the back of the net earned him the young player of the year award at the recent player's awards dinner.

Now we are being linked with one of his former team mates in defender Andy Yiadom who is also attracting Premier League interest from Burnley.

The full back is rated as one of the best defenders outside of the Premier League and made 33 appearances last season before injury cut short his campaign.

Yiadom's impressive performances saw him rewarded with a call-up to the Ghana squad for January's Africa Cup of Nations and he made his debut for the Black Stars in that tournament.

Yiadom is the modern-day full-back as he is equally adept at going forward as he is at defending and is now in the last year of his contract which could mean Barnsley may decide to cash in this summer.
