Juventus Interested In Cedric Soares
Friday, 23rd Jun 2017 13:11

The latest story coming out of Portugal is that Juventus are interested in Cedric Soares and have enquired about the asking price.

According to the Portuguese newspaper Record, Italian giants Juventus have recently opened talks with Southampton to get to know the possibility of a Cedric Soares transfer.

The Record states that the contact so far has been resticted to just finding the player’s price, something it doesn't reveal whether it was quoted or not.

Cedric is contracted to Saints till the summer of 2020, so Saints are under no particular pressure to sell .

Juventus are considering their options at right back and interestingly it is pointed out that Cedric is keeping Nelson Samedo out of the Portugese side and that both Manchester United and Barcelona have enquired and been quoted upwards of £35 million for the Benfica player.

Do Juventus have that kind of money to spend on a full back ? if they do would they want to !

More silly money for a player we brought in for a fraction of that price. Just can't help feeling that if we sold VVD and used the money to reinvest wisely as we have before we can add to what we currently have and this time aim for the next level. It's all about convincing the players that that we can do that. Dreamland would be spending money and keeping VVD as captain.

Won't Juve have to ask for Liverpool's permission first?

I criticise fans who seem to scapegoat certain players, but I’ve never really rated Soares. If we have an opportunity to sell him for £35m and get Chambers back for £15m then I think that would be a fantastic bit of business.

Cedric Soares is a fabulous player who has really come good at Saints. He is also a great guy and clearly loves it here and the fans. We have yet to see the best of him, good as he is now and it would be a folly of huge proportions to let him go.

A key part of our team for years into the future, no way must we let him go and what's the good of money when a player is nigh on irreplaceable.
