Dale fans fund 1st trip for supporter
Friday, 7th Jul 2017 05:45 by Col

In a matter of hours, Dale supporters have raised enough money for a Dale fan overseas to travel over and make his first ever visit to Spotland.

It's truly a modern tale of football, with the Spanish supporter's affection for the club starting after playing as the club on Fifa - picking the side as he wanted to take the club up to the Premier League. Three years and nearly 4000 Dale related tweets later, he's about to watch his first game in real life.

It became a tale of devotion last season, when he got his own shirt with "Spanish Dale" emblazoned on the back, creating his own Dale images and logos and follows each and every game from the continent. He even joined on field celebration for his local side Albacete proudlywearing his Dale shirt.

But it wasn't enough - and two Dale supporters on Twitter (@bluejonnyvimto and @Dazzler36) started discussing bringing him over for the game and suggested using crowd funding to bring the young Spanish supporter over for his first ever game.

The aim was £200 - within hours, that target had been smashed and at time of writing, £240 had been raised to give this young supporter the trip of lifetime -
