Leroy - We Are Ready
Sunday, 6th Aug 2017 08:48 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

The Swans head to Southampton next Saturday to open up a seventh season in the Premier League and we now do so on the back of an impressive 4-0 win over Sampdoria at the Liberty yesterday afternoon.

Goals from Leroy Fer, Tammy Abraham, Federico Fernandez and a bizarre own goal saw the Swans romp home in their final pre-season game and in truth there could have been plenty more giving reasons for optimism to be high ahead of the new season.

Some of our preparation has been overshadowed by the long drawn out saga involving Gylfi Sigurdsson and Everton but Leroy Fer insists that we will be ready for next week as we go into the final week of pre-season training.

“Four-nil on the last game of pre-season was a great way to finish,” Fer told the official site. “The gaffer told us before the game to finish in a positive way so that we are ready for Southampton.”

“We played a good game, in the first half, we were searching a little bit, but as soon as it became 2-0, we started to play really well and created a lot of chances.

“We finished off strong, and I think we are ready for next week now. We have another hard week of training before Southampton, so we will be ready.”
