Swans Look To Start Spending

BBC Sport are reporting that Hull City have turned down a £12m bid from the Swans for midfielder Sam Clucas as we look to start the spending spree that was desperately needed once the Gylfi Sigurdsson transfer was confirmed.

But it looks as if will take much more than the £12m initially offered for Clucas with reports suggesting that the Tigers - relegated from the Premier League last season - will be holding out for £20m for the man that is also wanted by Burnley.

Hull manager Leonid Slutsky confirmed the club had received a bid for the player: "Yes. And now it's a very difficult situation but we hope he will continue to play in the team because he's a very important player for us, a key player.

"He's continuing to play in the team but also I need to be realistic in the situation so I don't know."

It makes a little of a refreshing change to see that the Swans are linked with players who haven't played here before with other links being to Joe Allen and Wilfried Bony as well as Nacer Chadli who was a target twelve months ago before joining West Brom.

Clucas is contracted at Hull until 2019.
