Swans In Snodgrass Link

There is speculation that West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass has emerged as a transfer target for the Swans after he was told that he could leave the London Stadium during the transfer window.

It is only a little over six months since West Ham paid more than £10m for the Scottish international but having failed to find the net at all for the Hammers then they are prepared to cut their losses and let him leave.

The Swans were linked with a move for him back in January before he joined West Ham and we are clearly in need of reinforcements following the sale of several players this summer, including the record transfer of Gylfi Sigurdsson in midweek.

Snodgrass - capped 24 times by Scotland - has always been a player that has interested the Swans although it is not known whether any interest has gone beyond press speculation.

Sunderland have already shown an interest in the player with manager Simon Grayson saying "When people like him become available you would be foolish not to consider it

"That would be a deal dictated by finances. Can we do it? Who knows, but we might ask the question."

Whether a permanent move would happen remains to be seen but with the player being also made available on loan then it could well be something that has some mileage in it.
