Swans Wait On Bartley Injury

After a season on loan at Leeds United, Kyle Bartley returned at the end of last term looking like a man set for a future away from the Liberty Stadium.

However, a start against Manchester United last weekend and a new contract in the summer changed that outlook and it seemed as if he was ready to play a part in our season after all.

He was selected to start against MK Dons last night in the Swans 4-1 league cup win but ended the night being stretchered away with a knee injury that we all hope will not keep him out of action for long.

It must be tough being a player when you think everything is ready for the future and then you get this stroke of luck but Paul Clement was hopeful after the game that the injury was not as bad as first seemed when he was taken off

“Kyle went up for a header. He hyperextended the knee and came down it,” Clement explained.

“He felt his knee, but we are not sure the extent of the injury at the moment.

“We hope it’s not a bad one and we will see him back shortly, but there will have to be further analysis on it.

“He had such a good season at Leeds. He has come back and done well and he played well against Manchester United

“He did well again tonight — he is nice and solid. He has good leadership qualities and good character. We just hope it is not a bad injury.”
