McBurnie Deal Falls Through
Thursday, 7th Sep 2017 19:01 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

I have never really understood why teams leave it so late to complete deals during a several month long transfer window and the madness of this was highlighted when the Swans announced that Oil McBurnie had returned to the club as the EFL had rejected his loan move to Barnsley.

Hot on the heels of us failing to complete a move for Andy Yiadom coming the other way, the news came through today that McBurnie would return to Swansea

It really does beggar belief how two teams cannot complete necessary paperwork by a designated deadline once but to do it twice is simply unforgivable no matter who is responsible.

A statement released via the official website said "Swansea City can confirm that striker Oliver McBurnie will be returning to the club with immediate effect after the football league rejected his loan transfer to Barnsley today."

As with anything where there is a cock-up involved we had the nameless spokesman also commenting “We are naturally disappointed for Oli having gone through the process, but we are pleased to have a player of his quality available again for both the first team and in a competitive under-23 structure.’’

It really is time for the club here to announce what happened exactly for these two transfers to fall through and what measures have been taken, if the fault lies with us, to ensure it doesn't happen again.
